Getting fresh at the Downtown Farmer's Market

It's that time of year. I absolutely live for markets, festivals, and community events. It's the closest thing we have to the town square of yore. The farmer's market in downtown Salt Lake City is outstanding...and huge. Fresh food, prepared food, sexy bearded men wearing baby bjorns, art, crafts, beautiful dogs everywhere, musical performers around every turn, people watching galore. Here are a few highlights from last weekend's opening event. Also, follow them on Instagram for all sorts of great market shots.

Beautiful opening day at the @downtownslc farmer's market. Perfect timing for our @instawalkslc. Thanks @chrisholifield!

I do. I do love garlic.

A chart of beef. Now you know.

Flowers galore.

Picked this morning. Shake hands with the people who grow your food. It's good for you.

If you say so, hippies.

Fresh. #farmersmarket

Pierre Bakery, being all gorgeous and stuff at the @downtownslc farmer's market.

There's magic in the air at opening day of our @downtownslc farmer's market.

Prediction: Dottie's Biscuit Barn will be the @downtownslc market trend of the summer. She had a 45 min line and she sold out of multiple items by 11am. Also, cutest booth ever.
